An event including 70 artists  all painting a given square of Sir Stanley Spencer’s “Dinner on the hotel Lawn”. Completed in one day and erected within a few yards of the original scene in the grounds of the Odney Club, Cookham. Side shows  and the talents of Rolf Harris  entertained the crowds as the squares went up one by one. The finished result  was quite stunning.  I was working behind the scenes but my son Joshua got to paint my square for me.

The artists had a coach trip up  to the Tate Britain  earlier in the year where we  saw the original painting and were treated to a talk by Kathryn Burden and Tina Mason on the painter  and his techniques.
