On November 5th last year I spent the morning with 1st Cookham Scout Group as they organised   seemingly chaotic mounds of  rubbish into a skilfully orchestrated bonfire which anyone who has attended their annual firework display will know is unparalleled in the area!

The weather this year was perfect so in between cooking bacon butties to keep the workers happy I took a series of photographs to work from. This is a montage of the best bits. Cliveden can be seen high up on the hill above the Formosa Meadow. I have not attempted to paint portraits as such as I was aiming for an overall  effect but several characters will be recognisable to those in the know.
