Kathryn Burden from the Stanley Spencer Gallery talks about the childhood of the painter under the watchful eye of his father, William Spencer. with readings of the poetry of William Spencer. Alf  Boxer was a friend of Stanley Spencer and was one of the original group who campaigned for and set up a permanent exhibition of his work after his death. Spencer’s painting are the inspiration for Alf’s poems.
