Art in School
Art in School
Holyport Manor School Confidence in the future was the school slogan and the theme for a collaborative painting with teacher, Christine Richards. We wanted to make a painting which could be used consequently in all areas of the curriculum. The images chosen reflect the past and look to the future. In the bottom right, the theme is about communication, on the left science and technology. In the middle we explored the possibility of space travel to new horizons. The symbolism that we can reach for the stars ( a pop tune of the time) is shown by the child in the foreground literally touching the moon. It is holding up well to the elements.
Healthy Schools Art Day
I was asked to provide a full day of art activities over the whole school on the theme of healthy Schools
For the littlest pupils we splashed gloriously about in red green and orange paint making lollipop trees.
The serving counter got a make-over with some fun fruit!
The runner was made from an old shop dummy found on Free-cycle. I covered him in layers of kitchen paper to give him a paintable surface.
His shorts are healthy food labels and the crowd scene from milk bottles stuck on to a board. The whole picture was finished off with fruit bunting! This all had to be assembled once everything was dry but made a stunning piece.
